FAQ
Does SEMS need the internet?
Not to run your site; measuring, control, limits and history all work on the controller. The internet brings weather forecasts, prices and the optional CyberSun monitoring portal, and without it SEMS carries on with what it has.
Will it work with my inverter, battery or charger?
Check Supported devices, which shows whether SEMS monitors or also controls each model. If yours is missing, contact us; SunSpec devices may already work with the generic profile, and we can add your model if needed.
Which electricity contracts does SEMS understand?
Market prices from ENTSO-E, BSP SouthPool, HUPX and SEEPEX, the Bisol Energija price list, your own fixed schedule, and Slovenian household tariffs with MT/VT or ET, plus supplier fees and Slovenian network charges per time block. See Dynamic prices and Slovenian network tariff.
Will SEMS sell my battery energy to the grid?
Only if you switch on Allow battery grid export in the Electricity Plan. Self-Sufficiency and Home Tariff never sell from the battery.
Can I change the strategy or switch SEMS off?
Yes, at any time on the Strategy page, with at least the Operator role. Select Do Nothing or switch off Enable automatic strategy control, and SEMS stops sending commands while monitoring and history continue.
I have several batteries or inverters. Is that a problem?
No. Several batteries work as one, also from different manufacturers, and one controller can run several separate systems, each with its own strategy and electricity plan. See Batteries.
What happens if an update goes wrong?
Updates are signed by CyberSun, take the site offline for only about 3 minutes, and roll back automatically if something goes wrong.
Who sees my data?
The accounts you create on the controller. If you connect the CyberSun monitoring portal, CyberSun also sees device identity, system health, alarms and energy data. Privacy and security lists everything that leaves your site.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. Every history graph exports to Excel, CSV or XML, and EV charging sessions to CSV. See History.
In which languages is SEMS available?
English and Slovenian; choose in Settings.
