Batteries

Battery card on the Home page

SEMS decides when the battery charges and discharges, and keeps every command within what the battery and its inverter can safely do.

Several batteries, one plan

Several batteries, also of different sizes and makes, work as one; each takes a share based on the energy it has left, and a faulty one is left out. SEMS also reads the battery management units of large cabinets and reduces or stops a battery whose unit goes silent or reports a problem.

Limits and protection

On the Devices page each battery shows the power limits it reports, the limits you configured, and the effective limits SEMS uses, the lower of the two. You can also set a depth of discharge; without it, SEMS uses the inverter's own.

Every strategy respects the battery's charge levels and counts its losses, so it never cycles the battery for a gain the losses would eat.

Keeping energy for an outage

If your system can supply the site during a power cut, Backup and Home Tariff keep a reserve that normal use and trading never touch.

What you see

The Battery card on the Home page shows the charge level, state of health, usable energy and total capacity; with several batteries, click the battery in the energy flow to see each one. Device History keeps every battery value SEMS reads.
